Project overview:

Comparative Operability of Floating Feeder Solutions

Awardee:

MARIN USA

Start Date:

Q2, 2021

Technical Challenge Area:

Supply and Logistics

Completion Date:

Q3, 2022

Synopsis:

In this project, MARIN USA will conduct a comparative operability analysis and methodology validation investigating the operability (uptime/downtime) of typical feeder vessel solutions, equipped both with and without motion compensation systems.

Target Outcomes:

1
Evaluate vessel operability with and without motion systems, considering factors like current, swell, waves, and wind. Use simulations to assess New England U.S. coast sea states, providing seasonal and annual operability performance to inform decision-making.
2
Results and recommendations of the analysis will be formulated into a public guidance document. EPCI contractors can use it to choose suitable solutions, while designers can benchmark their designs. This enhances industry operational efficiency.
