Synopsis:

DEME Offshore US LLC (“DEME”) with its Dutch partner SPT Offshore B.V. are developing a new foundation type for the US offshore wind industry: The Tri-Suction Pile Caisson concept (“TSPC”). This project will quantify why this foundation concept is technically and commercially more attractive for US wind farms compared to the traditional concepts.

Target Outcomes:

A design will be made for the TSPC concept tailor-made for US market, including a Basic fabrication methodology, and a Basic transport & installation methodology.

In order to quantify the potential of the TSPC for the US market, an indicative ECPI cost for the TSPC concept will be calculated based on a benchmark US wind farm project and this cost will be compared with existing foundation types.
